Since then, along with doing various Solo projects, as a studio/session guitarist, songwriter/composer has collaborated with a plenty of artists/bands and participated in a variety of Projects in Europe and UK, among them were:
• ex-Gorky Park singer Nickolai Noskov (Russia)
• Rock House (Germany)
• Advice (Germany)
• ex-Terence Trent D'Arby player Andy Whitmore (London, UK)
• Never the Bride (London, UK)
• The River Crows (Scotland, UK)
• The Ringer (Scotland, UK)
• Lyra Celtica (Scotland, UK)
...and many others.
In 1994 participated in a Charity Project International Artists Against Racism, led by British actress Vanessa Redgrave, along with some other leading musicians (Bono, Kris Kristofferson), theatre and TV stars from all over the world, visiting the cities of the former Yugoslavia (Zagreb, Belgrad, Split, Sarajevo), performing in theatres, Concert halls, Art centres and refugee camps. The visit had the full support of UNICEF. Years of experience, studying the performer schools of the distinguished Violin players of the past (Paganini, Vivaldi, Joachim, Venyavski) and playing their original exercises and pieces enabled Alexandre to have reached the heights of performance and become a Virtuoso Guitar player having designed and developed his individual playing technique and style. As a Guitar expert participated in many International Music Fairs.
His considerable experience and guitar playing skills has gained him much popularity as of a valuable and demanded studio-session player, who as well practices tuition (Workshops and Masterclasses in progressive guitar playing techniques, both electric and acoustic). His activities have been personally appreciated by quite a few well-known people in Show Business, among them are: • Hans Barth (Warner Chappel Music, Germany) • Jimmy Bowien (Polydor-Deutsche Grammophon, producer of CATS Show in Hamburg) • Vanessa Redgrave, British actress • Limb Schnoor (Limb Music Publishing, Germany) • James Ross (DECCA Record Co, London, UK) • Nathan Thompson (Island Record Co, London, UK) • Michael Smilgies (Hidden Force Music, Germany) • Andy Whitmore (ex-Terence Trent D'Arby; at present - Chief of Greystoke Productions, London, UK) • Sandy Brechin (Sandy Brechin Records, Edinburgh, UK) ...and many others. Currently the Maestro is involved into a wide range of music business activities, doing a lot of gigging, studio/session work and teaching along with running his solo projects.
At the moment Alexandre is launching his new Solo Project. The "official" story of its origination goes like that. Having paid quite a lot of attention and efforts to instrumental music during the preceding years, Alexandre felt the inner urge to turn to writing and performing songs - poignantly enough, something with which he started his career of a Rock/Pop musician way back in the 80's.
Throughout all this time he, actually, has been wtiting songs which every now and then happened to pop into his mind. Somehow they've never been released (or even performed in public) before. Recently Alexandre picked up a few fresh ones, arranged and updated them, got an act together and played a couple of Concerts at various Venues around Europe, presenting this "singer/songwriter" stuff to the world. And (!!!) - the audience's response was amazingly great! The same concerning the mass-media and biz professionals.
This encouraged Alexandre to proceed with this endevour, so he got into the studio(s) and, having hired the needful people, recorded several songs to further make an Album. He himself has written all the music and lyrics for his songs and produced them, having recorded all the vocals, guitars and keyboards.
Stylistically, it's a set of Melodic Pop/Rock songs with soulful, catchy melodies; they're romantic and upbeat, with influence from New Age, Progressive Rock and a noticeable touch of Folk (Celtic), while possessing the energy and drive of contemporary Rock. Six of them are already studio-recorded and ready for release; another 40 are complete and awaiting recording. Having already received favourable reviews and encouraging responses from contacts in Russia and abroad, Alexandre is looking for best possible opportunities to successfully market this product in Europe, the UK, and in the US. For the attention of those in Business who might get interested: any valuable assistance, ideas and/or proposals of cooperation would be truly appreciated and considered with interest and respect.
In April/May of 2005 Guitar virtuoso and songwriter Alexandre de Guise is going to release his New Solo Album, entitled "Can't Be in Vain" and Live Concert (open air) DVD entitled "Live in Red Square, Moscow", 2004.
The Album is a collection of songs which, stylistically, can be discribed as a tasteful blend of Mainstream melodic Rock, smart Pop, with an influence from Progressive Rock, elements of New Age and vibes of Celtic Folk. All songs written, arranged and produced by Alexandre de Guise. The title of the DVD speaks for itself - it's a video of Alexandre de Guise's recent Live Solo Concert in Red Square, Moscow, featuring the songs from his New Album "Can't Be in Vain"
